NASHVILLE, Tenn. (WKRN) – The Metro-Nashville Police Department has released more details about the rape of an 18-year-old nanny at a Nashville recreation center.
The attack happened around noon on Aug. 4 at the Hamilton Creek Recreation Center off Bell Road.
The teen was caring for 3-year-old twins when the suspect assaulted her before taking off.
Authorities have followed up with the victim and now believe the man fled in a black 2000s model Japanese-type car that had a tan interior. The 18-year-old said the car was dirty and had a radio antenna on the front.
The victim also recalled seeing a potential witness who could have seen the assailant leave in his vehicle between noon and 12:30 p.m.
The potential witness, described as a man with blonde hair, was reportedly sitting in a parked silver Chevrolet Camaro-type car as the victim came from the woods near the trail head after the attack.
The Sex Crimes Unit is working the case and continuing their search for the suspect. Officials say he is of Hispanic descent, between 5 feet 6 and 5 feet 8 inches tall.
At the time of the attack, he was wearing khaki pants, a black shirt with possible black stripes, and sunglasses.
Metro police said the same general description matches a man who sexually assaulted a woman on July 20 at the Hickory Trace Apartments on Hickory Hollow Place.
