PETALUMA (KRON) — A cellphone store in Petaluma was robbed at gunpoint Monday night, according to police.

Police were notified of a hold-up alarm and were dispatched to the Boost Mobile store at 440 E. Washington Street around 7 p.m.

Witnesses said the suspect forced a store employee to open the register at gunpoint before fleeing the scene on foot with an undisclosed amount of cash.

The suspect is described as a Hispanic man between the ages of 18 and 20 with short dark hear. He had a thin build and was 5 foot 6 inches to 5 foot 8 inches tall, police said.

The man was last seen with a black bandana over his face, a black t-shirt, light blue jeans, white and blue tennis shoes and a silver revolver-type handgun.
