Oakland police arrested a suspect Friday who was wanted for shooting at an officer, authorities say.
According to the Oakland Police Department, the shooting incident happened around 3:13 a.m. in the 2300 block of E17th Street.
Authorities say the officer, who was in uniform and driving a fully marked patrol car, attempted to arrest a suspicious man.
A foot chase ensued and the suspect turned in the direction of the officer and discharged a firearm, police said.
The officer was not hit and did not discharge his weapon.
Upon further investigation, officers located the male suspect and he was taken into custody.
