SAN FRANCISCO (KRON)—San Francisco police have now taken a suspect into custody after a 22-hour standoff.

Officers responded to a well-being check Monday on someone who made several calls to police.

When officers arrived to the home on the 500 block of Campbell Avenue, the homeowner made threats to commit suicide, and blow-up his home.

The fire department was called to the scene and nearby homes were evacuated.

When officers were trying to negotiate with the man, they heard crashing noises inside the home. The suspect covered his windows and even used a mattress to cover one of the windows.

It wasn’t until 3 p.m. Tuesday that the suspect came out on his ledge and threatened to jump before going back inside. He then started throwing liquid bleach on the front gate and at a few officers. Some had to be taken to the hospital for bleach exposure.

The suspect, Magnom F. Carolino, 51, was drinking the bleach when officers arrested him and took him into custody around 3:45 p.m.

Carolino was booked into San Francisco County Jail for assault with a caustic chemical, resisting arrest, making a false report of a bomb, and aggravated assault on a peace officer.

The officers injured are now out of the hospital.
