PACIFICA (BCN) — A suspect in an armed robbery of a 7-Eleven Tuesday was arrested Thursday following a pursuit with police.
George Edward Washington, 26, of Pacifica, was arrested on suspicion of robbery, being a felon in possession of a firearm, possession of a controlled substance, possession of a controlled substance while possessing aloaded firearm, resisting a peace officer, child endangerment and on outstanding warrants, according to the Pacifica Police Department.
Officers with the Pacifica Police Department responded Tuesday to the 7-Eleven at 137 Manor Drive on a report of an armed robbery.
The suspect reportedly robbed the store after brandishing a firearm and fled the scene with an undisclosed amount of currency, police said.
Police said they were able to identify Washington as the suspect and located him Thursday at 2:20 p.m. at a residence in the 200 block of Bancroft Avenue.
Officers saw Washington enter a vehicle being driven by a woman and attempted to pull the vehicle over in Pacifica.
The vehicle fled from officers and led them on a pursuit into San Francisco.
The pursuit ended when the vehicle crashed into another vehicle near the 400 block of Somerset Street in San Francisco, police said.
Washington fled from officers on foot following the crash and ran toward a recreation center where several children were present, police said.
He was finally apprehended in the 400 block of Felton Street.
A detective located a loaded handgun at the recreation center following the pursuit, and investigators believe it is the same handgun used in the robbery, police said.
The driver of the vehicle, identified as Breanna Marie Mezzie, 24, of Sacramento, was arrested on suspicion of evading a peace officer with willful disregard to public safety and driving with a suspended license.
