The five-hour standoff is over according to San Francisco Police.
Police said six officers and some civilians were hurt as the suspect was taken into custody. The suspect was hit with a bean bag round, police said.

SAN FRANCISCO (KRON) — Police in San Francisco are in a standoff with an armed suspect barricaded in a Chinatown apartment Friday, according to authorities.
At around 9:20 a.m., police received a 911 from a person in the 900 block of Pacific Street saying a suspect had broken into their apartment, police said.
Police swarmed an apartment building and found that the suspect was still inside the apartment.
When police ordered the suspect to get out of the apartment, the suspect barricaded himself inside a room and fired one shot. No one was hurt, according to police.
The resident was able to get out of the building unharmed.
The building has been evacuated. A shelter in place has been put into effect for residents in the area.
A flash-bang grenade has been deployed at the scene.
One person is in custody, according to a detective.
Two other people were seen fleeing the building, it is possible they were sheltering in place, according to a KRON 4 source.
One person was seen wheeled out in a stretcher.
Streets are closed off and police are asking residents to avoid the area near the intersection of Powell Street and Pacific Avenue.
A SWAT team has also responded to the scene and authorities are actively negotiating with the suspect.
The suspect was arrested around 2:30 p.m. and is now in custody.
