PALO ALTO (KRON) — An East Palo Alto many was arrested Thursday in connection with an attempted residential burglary in Palo Alto.
Daniel Marteese Williams, 19, was arrested on suspicion of burglary and resisting arrest.
At 9:41 a.m. on Thursday, police received a call from a homeowner in the 2000 block of Edgewood Drive reporting a burglary in progress.
According to police, a house cleaner who was inside of the house, saw a man climbing into an open window from the backyard and told the homeowner, who went outside and found the suspect hiding in his backyard.
Officers spotted the suspect walking on Woodland Avenue and West Bayshore Road in East Palo Alto. The officers attempted to stop Williams, but he fled on foot.
Officers from the Palo Alto Police Department and the East Palo Alto Police Department searched for the suspect, who was later identified as Williams, when located at 11:04 a.m. hiding under a nearby mobile home.
No items were stolen from the residence.
