PLEASANT HILL (KRON) — The California Highway Patrol has arrested a suspect accused of ramming multiple CHP vehicles during a pursuit from Oakland to Pleasant Hill on Thursday night, according to the Oakland CHP.

The chase started at around 8:50 p.m. and ended at about 9:15 p.m. Officers arrested the suspect with the help of a K9 unit, the CHP said.

The pursuit began on eastbound Highway 24 at Broadway in Oakland, and ended on Skander Lane in Pleasant Hill, the CHP said.

The CHP said the suspect will be taken to the hospital for treatment of a dog bite before being booked into jail for assault with a deadly weapon and evading arrest.

The CHP initially tried to stop the suspect for tailgating, according to the CHP.
