WASHINGTON D.C. (KRON) — A suspect is in custody after the United States Secret Service found a mysterious package near White House grounds.
The package was reported by officials on Twitter just before 8:00 a.m.
Members of the media and the public were moved a safe distance away from the package, the Secret Service said.
Roads were also being closed around the area.
At 8:50 a.m., officials reported a suspect was in custody, and that the investigation will continue.
The grounds are now cleared, and all road closures are lifted.
