PALO ALTO (KRON) — Police are searching for a suspect who allegedly vandalized a 9/11 memorial site in East Palo Alto, Sunday afternoon.
According to East Palo Alto police, around 1:40 p.m. an unidentified suspect set fire to several flags honoring victims of the deadly 9/11 terrorist attacks. The vandalism took place in front of a fire station in East Palo Alto.
The memorial was set up by firefighters by from the Menlo Park Fire Protection District. The memorial consisted of a banner and a large number of flags.
Police said, the suspect walked southbound on Runnymede Street from University Avenue.
Police have released surveillance video asking the community to help identify the suspect.
