(BCN) – Three of four gates to Super Bowl City have been closed this afternoon because of the large number of people at the venue centered at Justin Herman Plaza in San Francisco, a Super Bowl 50 spokesman said.
As of 4:42 p.m. all gates but the main gate on Market Street between Main and Beale streets were closed, spokesman PJ Johnston said. The main gate may close soon if the public’s safety is in jeopardy.
“The crowds are just enormous today and we have to be guided by safety,” Johnston said.
Tens of thousands of people today have visited Super Bowl City, Johnston said.
