San Jose police announced this week that they have arrested 16 people in connection with a series of robberies, carjackings, and residential burglaries.

The arrests have prompted many people who have recently been robbed to wonder if the same people are responsible.

In Sunnyvale, KRON4 spoke to someone who had over $20,000 worth of stuff stolen.

Sunnyvale residents Nick Brown and Tara Clark say that this past weekend, someone ransacked the storage lockers at their apartment complex.

Tara estimates that the thieves made off with thousands of dollars worth of items, like TVs and bikes.

The thieves also stole Nick’s prized collection of musical instruments.

“I noticed my saxophone, my flute, my guitar,” Brown said.

On Monday, the San Jose Police Department announced that they had arrested 16 people–11 juveniles and five adults–who had allegedly been working as a gang to commit carjackings, robberies, and residential burglaries all across the South Bay.

While they have no evidence that the gang robbed their apartment complex, Tara and Nick wonder if the same group of people could be responsible for the thefts.

“We had a bunch of units that were all broken into seemingly at the same time,” Clark said. “We also had a lot of larger items that would have been hard to carry with just one or two people so that seemed pretty consistent.”

Police are investigating these thefts, but so far, there’s no indication from law enforcement in Sunnyvale or San Jose that the same gang is to blame.

Nick and Tara just hope that whoever did this will be brought to justice and that their possessions will be returned

“I would like to get these items back for one,” Brown said. “I would also like to see the people responsible brought to justice.”

“We are hoping to get some kind of resolution and really just find the items,” Clark said.

Anyone with info should call the Sunnyvale Police Department.
