Suisun City Non-Profit Burglarized

SUISUN CITY (BCN) — An assortment of communications equipment was stolen from the

Salvation Army’s new Mobile Assistance Vehicle in Suisun City Tuesday night

after it’s very first day in service, the Salvation Army said in a statement

Wednesday.

The theft was discovered this morning by staff members at the Kroc

Center at 586 E. Wigeon Way. The items stolen included a laptop computer, a

Xerox copier/printer, an LCD monitor and a Cisco wireless data system.

Capt. Jonathan Harvey, the Salvation Army’s Solano County

coordinator, said they’re looking to recover those items. The wireless data

system is especially distinctive, and should be easily recognizable if

someone tries to sell it.

“It’s not your average router you’d have in your home,” Harvey

said. “This was a heavy duty commercial-grade piece of equipment.”

Harvey said the Cisco data system had a six-inch antenna attached

to the unit’s main body and a larger wall-mounted antenna attached by a

cable.

“The intent of that mobile vehicle was for us to be able to go

anywhere in Solano and provide services while having access to data and

phone,” Harvey said. “That Cisco router in that vehicle was specifically for

that purpose.”

Just before the auto-burglary occurred, the Mobile Assistance

Vehicle had been deployed to provide food support to search and rescue teams

in Vallejo that were looking for a reported kidnapping victim.

The victim, Denise Hoskins, has since been found safe at a

relative’s home in Southern California, according to the Huntington Beach

Police Department.
