SANTA ROSA (BCN) — A cat has died, and four people are displaced after a two-alarm structure fire in Santa Rosa Monday evening, according to fire officials.
Santa Rosa fire officials said firefighters responded at 7:10 p.m. to reports of heavy black smoke and flames at 1106 Prospect Ave.
The residents were safely evacuated prior to firefighters responding.
Fire officials said the fire was brought under control within 20 minutes, and a dead cat was discovered on the second floor.
Animal control was called to the scene to assist the family with their needs, according to fire officials.
The cause of the fire is under investigation and the estimated property damage is around $300,000, fire officials said.
