A series of robberies at a popular shopping center in Fremont has left some residents feeling uneasy.
The most recent incident happened on Monday at 1:30 p.m.
A woman was walking across the parking lot when a man in his 40s approached her demanding her purse.
Police say when the victim refused, the suspect started beating her with a 12 to 18-inch pipe.
She was struck at least three times.
The woman sustained injuries to her head and a cut to her hand.
The suspect took off in a dark older sedan.
There were also two robberies that occurred at Ulta Beauty. One of those incidents happened on Jan. 10 when a man dashed in and grabbed some high-end fragrances.
Then on Jan. 5, two men brandished a knife at an employee and took off with perfumes.
Fremont police don’t believe all three incidents are related.
There is no surveillance video yet available, but officers are investigating.
