A series of storms are expected to pummel the Bay Area, bringing heavy showers Saturday and continuing off-and-on through early next week.
While there was a break from the rain around sunrise, the strong winds and heavy rain arrived later in the morning.
The slick roads impacted travel and caused several accidents including a big rig that had hydroplaned and crashed in Berkeley on Interstate-80 near Gilman Exit.
The National Weather Service says the wet weather will stick around through Tuesday.
The rest of the weekend and early next week will remain active with more storms moving through the area. Colder air will arrive Monday – Tuesday with snow possible in some of our higher peaks. #CAwx pic.twitter.com/jxM0t4PpiQ— NWS Bay Area (@NWSBayArea) February 3, 2019
Please remember to drive slow in the rain and leave extra room between your car and the vehicle ahead.
A Flash Flood Watch is in effect until noon and a High Wind Warning until 10 a.m.
