PACIFICA (KRON) — A high surf advisory is in effect Friday due to large, dangerous waves along the coast.
KRON 4’s Averi Harper spent the morning at the Pacifica Pier.
Pacifica is notorious for the massive waves that hit the coast during storms.
Authorities are warning residents to stay away from beaches due to strong rip currents and large sneaker waves.
Harper says it’s not stopping people from walking up to the pier and checking out the waves for themselves.Officials are asking people to be extra cautious after this week’s tragedy on Rodeo Beach in Marin County.
Crews have been searching for Dan Dafoe, 40, after the surfer was last seen face down in the ocean late Wednesday afternoon.
