FREMONT (KRON) — State Highway 84 in the Niles Canyon area of Fremont has reopened Monday morning after weather-related rock slides blocked the roads, according to Fremont police.
The rocks were initially reported in the roadway shortly before 4:40 a.m. and have blocked the highway in both directions, according to California Highway Patrol.
Fremont police originally said that it would likely be several hours until the roadway is reopened, but crews were able to reopen it as of 8:20 a.m.
The storm has caused damage all over the Bay Area, including flooding in the North Bay and power outages in the South Bay.
