Store clerk shot during 7-Eleven robbery in Antioch

ANTIOCH (KRON) — A robbery at a 7-Eleven left a store clerk in the hospital suffering from gunshot wounds in Antioch early Tuesday morning.

Police responded to a robbery at the convenience store on Lone Tree Way around 11:50 p.m. Monday, according to Antioch police.


A 20-year-old male employee was shot and injured but is expected to survive, according to police. A 33-year-old male store clerk was not injured during the robbery, police said.

Shortly after the incident, Antioch police stopped a vehicle thought to have been involved in the robbery, and two suspects were taken into custody, according to police.

The suspects have been identified as 20-year-old Angelo Ninoamaya and 19-year-old Rebecca Hernandez. Both are from Pittsburg, police said.

Ninoamaya and Hernandez were both booked into Contra Costa County jail on attempted murder, robbery, burglary, conspiracy, and accessory charges. They are being held on $1.22 million bail each.

At around 11 a.m. Tuesday, police obtained additional evidence from Ninoamaya’s home, police said.

The investigation is still ongoing. No further details were immediately available this morning.
