Sacramental records that were stolen from a San Francisco church have been returned.
Saint Dominic’s Catholic Church made the announcement on Facebook saying, “We are truly blessed by the providence of God and the goodness of God’s holy people.”
Thieves targeted the church and hauled away a large safe. Inside the safe was $9,000 dollars worth of gift cards given to struggling families but also Sacramental records dating back to 1873.
Religious ceremonies such as baptisms, marriages or funerals were all recorded into 20 leather bound books that had been stolen.
No word on whether the gift cards were returned, the historical records are back in its sacred place.
