NOVATO (BCN) — A stolen vehicle was recovered Tuesday in Novato with the assistance of license plate detection technology, according to police.
Police said a vehicle was reported stolen in the early morning hours Tuesday from the area of Lark Court.
While searching the area of Redwood Boulevard and Larch Drive, officers using an Automatic License Plate Reader were able to locate the vehicle parked and unoccupied.
The vehicle was released to the owner.
Police said the department currently has six patrol vehicles that are equipped with the license plate readers that assist in gathering valuable information for investigations.
