DALY CITY (KRON) — An early morning big-rig theft Thursday turned into a high-speed chase that ended in a collision with a minivan.

According to police, the big-rig was driving around 1:30 a.m. Thursday in Colma when officers attempted to pull it over.  The driver refused to stop and drove away aggressively, nearly running over an officer.

A high-speed chase ensued until Daly City, where the big-rig crashed into a minivan with three passengers.

The three occupants of the minivan were a 16-year-old, a 20-year-old, and an adult female whose age hasn’t been disclosed.

All three occupants of the minivan were transported to San Francisco General Hospital.

The crash caused a diesel spill on the roadway, according to police.

Police took the driver of the stolen big-rig to San Francisco General Hospital where he was treated for minor injuries, and was later taken into custody.

Police are on the scene investigating the crash.
