NASHVILLE, Tenn. (WKRN) — The stars got glammed up, phone in hand, for the 88th Academy Awards Sunday night.

Host Chris Rock has been relatively quiet on the matter since the #OscarsSoWhite controversy, but that didn’t stop him from tweeting all about the big night.

The Academy themselves offered an inside look at the stars from backstage.

“Momager” Kris Jenner gave her fashion details through Twitter.

On the red carpet, Leonardo DiCaprio said, “After years and years of hard work, this is the end of it all.” Orange Is The New Black star Ruby Rose reacted properly.

Actress Mindy Kaling wore a gorgeous gown, but it was being a little difficult.

Social media exploded as Chris Rock not only mentioned the #OscarsSoWhite controversy, but made it the focus of his monologue.

To shorten thank you speeches, a “thank you crawl” scrolled across the screen. Jill Biden was not thrilled.

However, her husband, Vice President Joe Biden, was busy getting ready to present.

Host Chris Rock offered viewers a glimpse of a few “deleted” scenes.

When actor Sylvester Stallone did not win an Oscar, Arnold Schwarzenegger offered up his thoughts via a short video.
