SAN FRANCISCO (KRON) — The Bay Area Air Quality Management District has announced a Spare the Air day for Thursday.
This is the seventh alert in 2016.
Temperatures close to 100 degrees inland are predicted for Thursday along with light winds.
This weather will create an unhealthy ozone accumulation if it is combined with exhaust from cars, according to the district.
Spare the Air alerts are issued when the district predicts unhealthy ozone levels on a particular day.
If you need to commute somewhere on Thursday, the district recommends all Bay Area residents to carpool, bike, walk or take public transportation.
