South San Francisco school finds racist display on football field

SOUTH SAN FRANCISCO (KRON) — Officials at El Camino High School in South San Francisco made a disturbing discovery at the school when they found that a large swastika had been constructed on the school’s football field.

The offensive symbol was first spotted on Monday around 6:30 p.m. Tuesday morning, officials from the high school and the South San Francisco School District went to see what had happened.

Maintenance workers say that the swastika was about ten yards wide.

School officials think that it may have happened over the weekend, and said that it was taken down as soon as they were notified.

The offensive symbol was created with plastic tiles that snap together in order to create a flooring on the field in order to protect it during last Friday’s graduation ceremony.

Investigators with the South San Francisco police department say that they are investigating this as a hate crime.
