SPARTANBURG COUNTY, South Carolina (WSPA) — A judge denied bond to a man who is accused of breaking into a woman’s home and stealing more than $6,500 worth of jewelry.

23-year-old Zachary Hastings had his bond hearing Wednesday.

Investigators say Hastings broke into a home in the Twin Lakes community of Spartanburg County around 2:30 a.m. Wednesday morning.

They say the resident hid inside a closet and called 9-1-1.

Investigators say deputies arrested Hastings as he was leaving the home.

He has been charged with seven offenses including first degree burglary, grand larceny, possession of a weapon during a violent crime.
