PETERSBURG, Va. (WRIC) – Police sources say a deceased baby was found in a trash truck in Petersburg on Friday.
Sources tell WRIC that the trash company called police after discovering the baby’s body.
The Petersburg Bureau of Police released the following statement about the incident:Petersburg Bureau of Police responded to the 300 block of North Boulevard on April 15,2016 around 10:00 a.m. for an infant who was pronounced dead at the scene. A trash worker discovered the baby inside the back of the truck.
Detectives have located someone who may be the child’s mother, but that has not been confirmed. The investigation is ongoing.
