After an investigation, detectives believe that this was not a random act of violence but an isolated incident. Detectives said they have found no evidence of possible affiliation between the homicide and CSU Sonoma or the students. The body was only found on campus property.
Detectives have not released any information in regards to specifics such as where on the body the victim was stabbed, how many stab wounds and what type of weapon was used.
Kimberly of Cotati was missing since Oct. 17. He graduated from Rancho Cotate High School in May, and school staff brought along therapy dogs to comfort teachers and students during this troubling time.
According to Sgt. Spencer Crum, when Kimberly’s body was recovered the remains were “in the form of a body and are just bones.”
Sheriff deputies along with detectives are continuing to investigate this homicide, and specifics regarding where the evidence was located will not be made available at this time.
