Three employees at a fast-food restaurant in Texas were arrested this week after a girl found an ecstasy pill tucked in the wrapper of a burger, police said.
KXAN reports that a family went to a Sonic Drive-in Thursday. Once they got their food, the 11-year-old daughter unwrapped her 4-year-old brother’s burger and found a pill, which she initially mistook for candy.
But her parents suspected something worse and drove to a police station. Police said the tablet tested positive for ecstasy.
Investigators visited the drive-thru and ended up arresting three employees, 30-year-old Tanisha Monavette Dancer, 22-year-old Jose Javier Molina and 35-year-old Jonathan Ray “Scoop” Roberson.
Authorities reported finding three ecstasy pills hidden in Dancer’s clothing and marijuana when they searched Molina. Roberson was arrested on four outstanding warrants for theft by check, driving with an invalid license and bond forfeiture, the news station reported.
Dancer was fired from her role as a manager at the restaurant.
The Texas Department of Health was notified, but police said they do not believe there is a health or safety risk to Sonic customers since they made these arrests.
An investigation is ongoing with additional charges pending.
