ANTIOCH (BCN) — Police have arrested the 22-year-old son of a man who died several days after he was found shot in his Antioch home last month as a suspect in his father’s death, police said on Friday.

Antioch police at about 9 p.m. Thursday arrested Scott Eastman in connection with the shooting of his 44-year-old father, Relis.

Relis Eastman was initially found suffering a gunshot wound in a home in the 1900 block of Biglow Drive the night of June 25, according to police.

He was taken to John Muir Medical Center in Walnut Creek for treatment but was taken off life support five days later, according to police.

After multiple interviews with the victim’s son, police obtained a warrant and arrested him Thursday at the same residence where his father was shot, according to police.

He was booked into the Martinez Detention Facility and is being held without bail. Detectives have not filed the case for the Contra Costa County District Attorney’s Office to review as of Friday, police said.Bay City News contributed to this report.
