FARMVILLE, Va. (WISH) – Instead of Donald Trump and Hillary Clinton, Tuesday night is the vice presidential candidates time to shine.
Tuesday evening’s lone VP debate included a pair of governors, current Indiana Governor Mike Pence and Tim Kaine, a former governor of Virginia.
Longwood University in Farmville, Virginia served as the site as Kaine and Pence went back and forth over such topics as the economy, Hillary Clinton’s trustworthiness, Donald Trump’s temperament, and Clinton’s record as Secretary of State.
The candidates were also asked about police-action shootings that have recently grabbed headlines. Some of the Donald Trump and Hillary Clinton’s comments and the “insult-driven campaign” was also a topic of discussion.
Terrorism, the Clinton Foundation, and Donald Trump’s tax situation were also talked about considerably.
In the later stages of the debate, the candidates were asked about social issues including abortion and the role faith plays in each of their lives.
And always, those tuning in to see the Republican and Democratic vice presidential nominees debate made their feelings known on social media.
