A snow slide is blocking Highway 89 at Emerald Bay in the Sierra Nevada, according to Caltrans.
The snow slide happened on the highway near the Eagle Point Campground.
Maintenance reports it’s as high as 15 feet deep and about 160 feet long, according to Caltrans.
Due to safety concerns and the incoming storm, the highway will remain closed for the next few days.
As the snow continues to fall in the Sierra, expect hazardous mountain travel through Saturday.
