An investigation is underway after skeletal remains were discovered at a San Mateo home Friday afternoon.
According to the San Mateo Police Department, a construction crew was digging underneath a home in the 900 block of 10th Avenue when they made the discovery.
Authorities said it is unclear whether the remains belong to a human or animal.
The area has been blocked off.
