SAN JOSE (KRON) — San Jose Department was called to investigate a suspicious package near the area of Stockton Avenue and Taylor street.
The bomb squad responded to the suspicious package around 7:45 a.m. Friday morning.
On-lookers say that police closed Stockton Avenue and West Taylor Street in both directions.
An employee at nearby Paul’s Quick Stop Liquor said police arrived at a driveway near the intersection of the two streets after 8 a.m. and he was told to stay inside while police investigate the package, but no evacuations were issued.
“I’m staying inside,” the man said. “I’m just watching.”
At 11:10 a.m., the suspicious package was deemed safe and the roads were reopened.
Police think that it was battery wrapped in tape with some wires exposed.
