SJ Police: Two men arrested in shooting death of teen

SAN JOSE (KRON) — Two San Jose men are behind bars accused in the fatal shooting of a teenage boy last month.

San Jose police on Thursday announced officers arrested 18-year-old Anthony Escamilla and 21-year-old Jesus Pina on suspicion of murdering 17-year-old Johnathan Natereno.

Investigators say the teen was gunned down on the night of June 26 in the area of Pensacola Drive and Terilyn

Avenue.

Police responded to a call of a shooting and found Natereno on the sidewalk suffering from at least one gunshot wound, investigators said. He was pronounced dead at the scene a short time later.

Officers say an investigation revealed that Natareno was shot after getting into a verbal altercation with the two suspects.

Pina was taken into custody last Friday and Escamilla was arrested on Wednesday, according to police.
