LAKE TAHOE (KRON) — Lake Tahoe got slammed with snow this past weekend, with the highest elevations of Sierra Nevada getting up to 5 feet of snow.
Marcie Bradley of Northstar Resort said the weekend storm brought the resort a total of 34 inches. Overall, Northstar has received over 31 feet of snow over the whole season.
Sugar Bowl got pounded with fresh powder. In the last 24 hours, the Sugar Bowl saw 33 inches, making a total of 59 inches in the last three days.
Boreal also saw 33 inches in the last 24 hours, putting their total at 53 inches.
Squaw Valley Resort reported getting 48 inches in the last 3 days and Kirkwood Mountain Resort got 38 inches.

The Sierra Avlanche Center has issued a warning of considerable avalanche danger.

Resorts are taking extra measures to ensure the safetly of skiers. Northstar closed half of the mountain over the weekend to perform routine avalanche checks.
Squaw Valley reported some delayed lift openings Monday morning due to snow safety measures and de-icing, but overall there are plenty of lifts open for skiers.
Heavy snow is expected to continue to fall into Monday afternoon. A Winter Storm Warning will remain in effect for the area until 4 p.m.
