ShotSpotter detects gunfire that injured teen in East Palo Alto shooting

EAST PALO ALTO (KRON) — A teen is recovering after being hurt in a shooting in East Palo Alto Monday night.

Around 10:18 p.m., officers with the East Palo Alto Police Department responded to a ShotSpotter gunshot detection system alert in the 2100 block of Oakwood Drive. When they got there, they found a 17-year-old teen who had been shot.


The teen was taken to the hospital with injuries that are not considered to be life-threatening.

Investigators have not get determined a motive for the shooting, nor have they identified any suspects in the shooting.
