ANTIOCH (KRON) — Shots were fired at an Antioch mall on Friday afternoon, according to police.
A 20-year-old woman was hurt in the shooting and is recovering.
The incident happened at the Somersville Towne Center at around 4:11 p.m. Police said they got calls about a fight inside the mall.
When police made contact with a car speeding away from the scene, they said they found a 20-year-old female inside the car with a gunshot wound to the chest.
She was treated at the scene and then taken to a nearby hospital, where she is in stable condition on Friday night.
The shooter is still on the loose. Nobody else was hurt in the shooting, police said.
No word on a motive for the shooting.
While police were on the scene, they said they learned of an unrelated theft. One suspect mentioned he or she had a gun, police said.
“A vehicle stop was conducted as the vehicle was leaving the parking lot and three females were detained. The stolen property was recovered however no weapon was located,” police said in a press release.
The stolen goods were recovered but no weapon was found.
