MARTINEZ (KRON) — The Contra Costa County Sheriff’s Office tweeted on Tuesday night that there was a shooting and a stabbing on Shell Avenue in Martinez.
It happened at around 6:16 p.m. on 1351 Shell Ave. Two people were taken to the hospital. Their conditions are not known at this time.
A task force was nearby at the time trying to serve a search warrant at a nearby home in unincorporated Martinez.
“The officers were around the corner from the home when they heard a gunshot, which apparently happened in front of the residence where they were going to serve the search warrant,” the sheriff’s office said on Facebook.
When officers arrived at the home, they found a person suffering from a gunshot wound and another suffering from stab wounds, the sheriff’s office said.
No other information has been released by authorities.
