Shocking images show a crash in Santa Cruz County involving a wrong-way driver on Highway 17.

The CHP says a driver suspected of being under the influence of drugs was driving northbound in the southbound lanes.
This happened in Scotts Valley on Highway 17.
Officials say the impaired 47-year-old driver hit another vehicle head-on.
The driver was arrested.
The amazing part is there were no life-threatening injuries.

This is the incredible aftermath of a wrong way DUI driver last night who hit another motorist nearly head-on. The vehicle pictured here was driven by a driver who was suspected of drug impairment.
To everyone’s surprise, there were no life-threatening injuries and the DUI driver was booked into the Santa Cruz County Jail early this morning.
This collision occurred around 11:44 PM when a 47-year-old man from Redwood City was driving northbound in the southbound lanes on the freeway portion of Highway 17 through Scotts Valley. The impaired driver was driving a 1999 Volkswagen Jetta which struck a 2014 Mazda MZ6.
