SAN MATEO (BCN) — Sheriff’s deputies are looking for a woman who was seen near a suspicious fire in unincorporated San Mateo County, sheriff’s officials said today.
Deputies and firefighters responded to a trailer fire near Seventh Avenue and East San Bruno Avenue at about 9:30 p.m. on Thursday, according to the sheriff’s office.
Sheriff’s officials said they found a large fire in a trailer that took firefighters more than an hour to extinguish.
Investigators suspect the fire may have been set intentionally and are working to discover the fire’s cause and point of origin, according to the sheriff’s office.
Witnesses said a white, middle-aged, heavyset woman wearing a white tank top was near the trailer when the fire was burning, but deputies earching the area were unable to locate her, according to the sheriff’s office.
