SAN FRANCISCO (BCN) — Sheriff’s deputies swiftly apprehended a 21-year-old man who ran out of a courtroom at San Francisco’s Hall of Justice this morning after learning he might be taken into custody, according to a San Francisco Sheriff’s Department spokeswoman.
Dominic Logan arrived at the Hall of Justice, located at 850 Bryant St., for a court appearance at 9 a.m. in Department 22 in connection with concealed firearm charges, sheriff’s department spokeswoman Eileen Hirst said.
Logan had been out of custody and was under the supervision of adult probation, according to Hirst.
Around 11 a.m., upon hearing a discussion that he may be remanded into custody, Logan apparently ran out of the third-floor courtroom, down a flight of stairs and out of the building’s front entrance, Hirst said.
Several deputies chased after him as he ran down Boardman Place, just across from the Hall of Justice, and quickly apprehended him.
Logan was then taken into custody in connection with the original concealed firearm charge. It was not immediately clear if he’d face additional charges, since he had not been yet been ordered into custody when he ran from the courtroom.
