Shelter-in-place on 17th and Valencia in San Francisco lifted after suspicious bag

SAN FRANCISCO (KRON) — A shelter-in-place had been issued on 17th and Valencia in San Francisco on Thursday night due to police activity, police said.

The situation has seen been resolved.


People were being asked to avoid the area as San Francisco police were on-scene investigating a suspicious bag inside the Mission Police Station. The bag has been deemed safe.

The suspicious bag was reported at around 9:15 p.m.

Officers located the bag in the lobby and called EOD and the bomb squad.

No other information has been made available by police.

This was the second shelter-in-place order in the city on Thursday night.
