San Francisco police have arrested a Vallejo man accused of trying to meet a 14-year-old girl for sex, police said on Thursday.
In early September, police investigated a man contacting the girl through social media for the purpose of meeting for sex, officers said. Police also found he tried to send graphic images to the girl, authorities said.
Police identified the suspect as 45-year-old Bryan Rosenthal, of Vallejo. Investigators say Rosenthal operates a Vallejo-based children’s charity.
Police arrested Rosenthal on Tuesday when he tried to meet and have sex with the girl in San Francisco, police said.
He was booked into San Francisco County Jail for trying to meet with a minor for sex, going to the meeting, sending harmful material to a child, communication with a minor for engaging in lewd, lascivious behavior, and having and producing child porn.
Police seized his cellphone.
“A brief review of his cellphone revealed that Rosenthal was having sexually explicit chats and conversations with other underage minors, and was attempting to meet several of them for sexual contact,” officers said.
