SAN FRANCISCO INTERNATIONAL AIRPORT (KRON)—A truck carrying jet fuel near the San Francisco International Airport caught fire Sunday afternoon, according to the San Francisco Fire Department.

The fire was reported around 12:37 p.m., said fire spokesman Jonathan Baxter.

The engine of the truck caught on fire while it was on a service road close to the airport, said Duty Manager Charles Navigante.

The truck’s operators were able to escape the fire without getting injured.

Firefighters arrived to the scene and were able to extinguish it, Navigante said.

Investigators found the truck did not leak any fuel from the fire.

It is unknown how the engine caught on fire.
