A federal appeals court in San Francisco has blocked President Trump’s request to ban transgender military troops.
The president announced the policy in a series of tweets in Jul. 2017.
On the Ninth U.S. Circuit Court of Appeals was the first appellate decision on the executive order he issued in March.
The White House could appeal the decision to the Supreme Court, but it’s not clear if the court would take up the case.
An earlier order by President Obama lifted the ban in Jun. 2016.
