A San Francisco coffee shop had the opportunity to make gourmet coffee for Salesforce’s annual Dreamforce conference, but the owner opted out of the contract.

Nick Cho said the company’s alleged work for U.S. Customs and Border Protection, doesn’t sit well with him.

After finding out Texas-based non-profit, Refugee and Immigrant Center for Education and Legal Services (RAICES), declined a $250,000 donation from Salesforce, the Korean immigrant decided the right thing to do was turn down his pending $40,000 contract.

“A big reason we made the choices we have, is that in America we’re addicted to money,” he said. ” Although we may shake our heads at things when it comes to money, we’ll still go to things that make us the most.”

For Wrecking Ball Coffee, that chunk of change could pay a lot of bills.

“It’s actually 2 months of our raw coffee supplies,” Cho said.

The shop has received a great deal of support.

KRON4’s Ali Reid reached out to Salesforce CEO Marc Benioff for comment, but he has yet to respond.
