SAN FRANCISCO (KRON/BCN) — A San Francisco cable car operator was injured in a crash involving a vehicle in the city’s Nob Hill neighborhood Monday morning.

Muni tells KRON 4 shuttle service was put in place on the Powell/Hyde and Powell/Mason cable car lines following the crash.

San Francisco Fire Department spokeswoman Mindy Talmadge said, the accident happened in the 1100 block of Powell Street between Washington and Jackson streets at about 10:35 a.m.

Talmadge said the operator was apparently seen crawling out from beneath a vehicle after being struck. Emergency crews rushed him to a hospital for treatment.

He reportedly suffered a leg injury. His condition was not immediately known.

Police also responded to the scene to investigate the cause of the collision, according to fire officials.
