Washington, D.C. (KRON) — Just minutes after Hillary Clinton announced her candidacy in the 2016 presidential run, United States Senator Barbara Boxer (D-CA) sent out an email formally endorsing Clinton.
The email read:
“In my lifetime, I have never seen such a strong consensus around a candidate, and it is easy to see why. Hillary Clinton has excelled at every position she has ever held, from First Lady to Senator to Secretary of State.
Working with Hillary so closely over the years, I have seen firsthand her skills, her compassion and her extraordinary ability to get things done. I saw her fight with every ounce of energy to rebuild and heal the country after the devastation of 9/11. I have seen her restore America’s standing in the world as Secretary of State.
Despite the unprecedented negativity being aimed at her, I am confident that the American people will recognize that Hillary is just the kind of strong and caring leader we need in these times.
I plan to work as hard as I can to help Hillary Clinton make history by becoming America’s first female president because she is the right choice and the right voice for all of our families and for a strong middle class.”
