EL SOBRANTE (KRON)—The Contra Costa Sheriff’s Office has arrested a second suspect in the shooting death of a 28-year-old man outside a bar in El Sobrante.
Deputies arrested 32-year-old Ray Simons in the killing of William Sims, said sheriff’s spokesman Jimmy Lee.
Simons is the second suspect that has been arrested in the case.
Daniel Porter-Kelly, 31, was arrested last month and charged with one count of felony murder, one count of robbery and facing a hate crime enhancement.
Porter-Kelly pleaded not guilty to the charges on Nov. 28 in court.
Prosecutors did not say why they believed Porter-Kelly should be charged with a hate crime citing an ongoing investigation.
Police are still looking for 31-year-old Daniel Ortega who is either from Novato or Richmond..
Ortega, Porter-Kelly and Simons are accused of killing Sims outside the Capri Club on Appian Way.
